BRP staff ready for Covid-19
The Foundation Phase Robotics and IT from CURRO Brackenfell very kindly donated these 3D fashion masks for our Radiographers and Receptionists. This has gone such a long way in helping to alleviate anxieties when dealing with patients and we thank them for this act of kindness.

Breast Cancer Awareness Event
Bergman Ross & Partners has formed a unique connection with the community at Masiphumele Township in Kommetjie
They represent many organisations including:
- The Desmond Tutu Foundation
- Living Hope
- Various Schools and
- other townships and communities
Masiphumele means “Let us Succeed”
They make our beautiful ribbons and beaded crafts for breast cancer awareness month giving them work and, at the same time, making them aware of breast cancer and breast care.
Breast Cancer Awareness Event at D’Aria
The 5th October saw 350 ladies all dressed as a “Pink Diva” arrive at D’Aria for a day of fun and entertainment.
This yearly event hosted by Die Son Newspaper, focussed on breast cancer awareness this year and invited Bergman Ross & Partners Radiologists to partner with them in their campaign to spread awareness especially in the month of October being breast cancer awareness month.
On arrival each person received a juice and muffin from McDonalds and then spent time visiting all the vendor stands.
Once seated, a moment was taken for the reason we were all there and Yvette Hechter and Jozene Fredericks from BRP presented a powerful presentation on breast care, breast cancer awareness, signs and symptoms and how to do monthly breast self -examinations.
Then the music started and all enjoyed the entertainment by PJ Twins, Robyn Peters, Eon Le Roux, Don Vino Prins, Tye Platinum as well as the cast of Suidooster who just happened to be in the house.
Salome made a guest appearance followed by the late Taliep Petersen’s daughter Jawaahier Petersen who gave a stunning vocal performance. This certainly got the crowd on their feet and dancing. At the end of the day each lady received a chocolate in the shape of the bra and although lots of fun was had, the message of breast cancer awareness was certainly very clear and all left with new knowledge and power to tackle this disease. A fabulous day all in all.
Nuwe Seisoen van Vrou Wees
14th September saw the “Nuwe Seison van Vrouwees” event at D’Aria . This consisted of two sessions with one in the morning and the other in the evening. Both were very well attended.
The day was filled with entertainment as all were treated to hair and makeup sessions by Hannon Botha, being serenaded by the singer and guitarist Loki Rothman and a presentation by the well- known plastic surgeon, Dr Hilmar Luckoff on the importance of keeping fit and healthy.
The guest speakers included Karien Basson and Nadine Blom and the exhibition hall were filled to capacity with exciting vendors all with their stuff on display. Storm in a G Cup was on hand to aid with correct bra fitting and BRP was out in full pink to aid with breast cancer awareness. As per usual Carlo and Maralise were there in style to welcome the ladies to our display and entice them to take a lucky draw for the pamper hamper and 6 free mammogram vouchers. A really fun day was had by all.

Mandela Day 2019
On 18 July 2019 Bergman Ross and Partners Radiologists participated in our very 1st Nelson Mandela day initiative.
Between staff and doctors, we managed to raise funds in addition to receiving donations, such as Teddy bears, sweets, books, toys, clothing etc.
A total of 80 party packs were produced and distributed to the children at Tygerberg Hospital School and Maitland Cottage Home. These packs were filled with chips, juices, sweets, chocolates and a toy for either a girl or a boy
The teddy bears collected were given to the Children’s Cancer Unit at Tygerberg Hospital.
We also delivered Coco Pops cereal to the Maitland Cottage Home which was such a treat for the children, as they normally only get porridge.
The donations of clothing we collected were given to Maitland Cottage Home to the children who do not have much clothing.
These are issued to the children when they leave the hospital.
There is an Orthopaedic Children’s Unit on the premises and the nursing staff will provide the clothing to the children according to their individual needs as some of them have lost limbs and the clothing will need to be adapted to each child.
A big thank you to one of our suppliers, River glade, who furnished us with Linen Savers and Bandages. We also supplied these to the Maitland Cottage Home.
It was such a heart-warming experience to see the faces of the children when they received their party packs and toys.
A special Thank You to all the Staff and Doctors that contributed to this great cause!! Hopefully next year we will get even more donations and be able to give back even more of these special children.
Remember that you have made a huge impact in the kids’ lives with your selfless acts of kindness and generosity. Each and every contribution is appreciated.
Thank you again.
Spar Walk
At 07:00 am on the 26th May saw our fabulous Bergman Ross and partners radiologists team line up at the start of the Spar Women’s walk.
While some of us did the 5Km walk, others did the 10km walk. A few brave ladies even took on the challenge of the 10km run, Whatever the distance, it was apparent that the entire team had a thoroughly enjoyable, fun day filled with team spirit, some exercise, sunshine and a catch up with colleagues.
A Day of Team Spirit, Sweat, and Sunshine
Complete with a medal to prove we crossed the finish line, and a goodie bag, we wandered home to nurse our tired feet.
